F.A.Q.

What is Verm-X?

Verm-X is a natural solution for treating and preventing intestinal parasites. Verm-X is made up of a 100% natural blend of variety of herbs specially formulated to treat each animal for all known intestinal parasites. We currently have products available for horses, a range of poultry, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, pigs and cows. Verm-X is available in different forms, liquid, powder, daily treats, different sized pellets and nuggets.

Is Verm-X certified organic?

As of November 2010 we are now CERTIFIED ORGANIC by Organic Farmers & Growers Ltd, in the England.

Verm-X is not currently "certified" organic in the USA. The reason Verm-X it is not certified organic is due to the astronomical cost required to acquire organic certification. However, Verm-X is 100% natural, no chemicals, no poisons so there is no reason other than cost that Verm-X is not certified Organic. At this time, we have decided not certify our entire line of 65 products due to trying to keep the cost down for customers. It is important to point out that is currently cost $1800 per item to certify organic. This cost would be forwarded to the customer which would raise the prices of our products. We feel people who study and understand the powerful effects of herbs, will still want to use our product and will not care about a $1800 sticker on the label that says "certified organic." After all, an herb is an herb. There is nothing chemical about it. :)

What herbs are in Verm-X?

The herbs found in Verm-X and their considered actions are as follows:

    •    Allium sativum - Garlic - For all round health with vermifugal effects.

    •    Ulmus fulva - Slippery Elm - Mild laxative and a detox herb.

    •    Mentha piperita - Peppermint - For gut flora maintenance and digestion.

    •    Thymus vulgaris - Common Thyme - Traditional internal anti-parasitic herb with vermifugal and vermicidal actions.

    •    Galium aperine - Cleavers - Alterative and diuretic with trace minerals.

    •    Cinnamomum zelandicum - Cinnamon - Also vermifugal and vermicidal.

    •    Urtica dioica - Nettle - Alterative, diuretic and anti-allergenic herb.

    •    Picrasma excelsa - Quassia - Also vermifugal and vermicidal.

How do we know Verm-X works?

When deriving the formulation of Verm-X, the required properties of each herb were identified. Inclusion of each of the herbs is based on their historical use, through research and the actions observed in both humans and animals. Trudy Norris, Former President of the Association of Medical Herbalists, composed the blend of herbs. The herbs are chosen for their ability in repelling internal parasites additionally Verm-X includes herbs that act as blood cleaners and those that enhance the general well being of the animals. The formulation will also support the health of the digestive system which will impact directly on the animal’s health, well being and ‘performance’. All the herbs chosen in the blend are compatible and synergistic (means work together) with one another.

Successful trials at Plumpton College, West Sussex have been carried out on its action as repellent of internal parasites. There is also a fast growing amount of anecdotal evidence which shows that animals fed Verm-X look extremely well and their coats gleam and the horse appear ‘brighter’.

Due to the proven ability of Verm-X to replace chemicals the British Government has awarded Verm-X with an industry award for environmental best practice 3 times.

Can my animal become immune to the herbs and cause the product to no longer work on my animals to treat intestinal parasites?

The answer is NO! Mother nature does an excellent job in not creating the same exact finger print of the same herb twice. So there are no worries of your animal getting immune to the product. All herbs are grown in the country side of UK and they harvest herbs every season just like we do here in the US for vegetables in our garden. The herbs are cut, combined with other herbs and put into containers for consumers. It is just that simple! There are no chemical binding agents or anything like that in our products; it is simply 100% herbs....the way nature intended.

Can I use Verm-X along with a conventional worming routine?

Different people have different worming routines, some worming 6 times per year to others who worm 'when they remember' - in either instance Verm-X may be used. If you worm your animals regularly Verm-X may be incorporated as part of that routine, maybe every other worming occasion for example. Many use only Verm-X at the recommended programs throughout the year and do not use chemicals. However, for Verm-X to remain effective regular worming as per the recommendations for each formulation is necessary. You only need to use Verm-X to treat all your animals for parasites. Using any other products that claim to treat parasite is just a waste of time and money. Why use more than one product to treat parasite when you can only use one? And you can sleep well at night knowing you are giving your animal a natural, healthy product made form nature. Verm-X is healthy for you too if you eat the eggs or meat of the animal.

What about sever infestations, how much Verm-X should I feed?

We suggest feeding a double course in the case of a severe infestation – feed the regular amount but feed for 6 consecutive days instead of the usual 3.  In a very severe case this could be done every 2 weeks for the first month.  Verm-X can take up to 3 weeks to be fully effective, but improvement should begin immediately.
It is absolutely fine to feed the given amount undiluted to each animal.  For poultry the daily amount is 1.5ml of the Verm-X Liquid per bird.  An alternative which might be appropriate in extremely severe cases is to feed both the Verm-X Pellets for Poultry and Verm-X Liquid for Poultry in conjunction with each other.  The customer should add the Verm-X Liquid to the birds’ water for 6 days, and then at the end of the course, feed Verm-X Pellets for Poultry for 3 days.  This for the first month, then in the second feed both the Verm-X Liquid for 3 days, followed by the Verm-X Pellets for 3 days, and then in the third month they should be ready to feed either one or the other as normal.

How much Verm-X should I feed my pet?

How much water should I mix Verm-X Poultry Liquid to for my chickens?

The 1.5ml per chicken per day for three days each month. Verm-X Poultry Liquid is designed to be added to the amount of water that the birds drinks in one day, this does vary depending on weather conditions, other feeds used etc but averages 50 mililietres per day.

You could use  a dilution of 30ml of Verm-X Poultry Liquid to each litre of water. Again, because the average bird drinks about 50ml per day. Keep in mind it is perfectly safe to give Verm-X full strength too. You could use a medicine dropper or needless syringe to carefully administer directly into the birds throat being careful not to give too much at one time.

1 liter = 1.056 quart [US, liquid]

I have geese, how much of the Verm-X should I feed?

When using Verm-X Liquid on Geese we recommend that you double the amount used due to their higher bodyweight. Therefore, using 3ml per head per day. Each day enough water should be given with Verm-X in that the birds can comfortably drink in one day. If all this water is drank before the end of the day then the birds may have as much fresh water afterwards that they require. This is suggested to save the Verm-X user throwing away any un-used Verm-X in stale water and to make sure the birds have their 3ml each day. If this is hard to monitor than we also recommend soaking the liquid into bread and feeding directly, whichever proves easier!
